VOLUNTEER FIRE & RESCUE SERVICES

Vigilant Hose Company’s Tower 6 was placed in service in early 2024. Tower 6 is a 2023 Pierce Enforcer 100’ Rear mount aerial, featuring a 6-person cab, a powerful 605 HP Cummins X15 motor, tak-4 suspension, hi-visibility LED scene lighting, Whelen emergency lights, and has an overall length of 46’ 11”. In addition to serving as the north end aerial device, Tower 6 can double as a heavy rescue when Rescue Squad 6 is out of service.

Duty 6 is a 2023 Chevy Tahoe SSV upfitted by First Priority Group. Duty 6 features Whelen emergency lights and a command box in the rear. It serves as Vigilant Hose Company’s command vehicle and was graciously donated by their Auxiliary.

Urbana Volunteer Fire & Rescue, Inc. is proud to have placed into service Engine 231. A 2024 Spartan with a 1500 GPM Hale Q-Max Pump, and 750 Gallon Water Tank. Also, Urbana Fire & Rescue has placed an order for a new 2024 Horton ambulance, expected delivery is mid-2025.

Walkersville Volunteer Rescue Company is proud to have placed a 2024 Pierce Velocity Heavy Rescue Squad into service. This rescue squad meets or exceeds Frederick County Heavy Rescue Squad standards and is known

as Rescue Squad 24. Rescue Squad 24 replaces a 2001 Pierce Quantum Rescue Squad. It is equipped with a 500 HP Cummins Diesel Engine, a five-man custom cab, battery Powered Amkus Rescue System, seven rescue tools, two rams, 300 Gallons of water, a 25 Gallon Class A Foam Cell with one 1 ¾-inch cross lay and retractable hose reel. Rescue Squad 24 also features an "All-Steer" design which allows the back wheels to turn which increases the ability to turn in a tighter angle.

Rescue Squad 24 can light up the scene with two Wilburt Light Towers, stabilize with a Partech Stabilization System and fill SCBA with a Cascade SCBA Fill Station. Walkersville Volunteer Rescue Company would like to recognize and appreciates the support of their community for the financial support to purchase Rescue Squad 24 at a cost of approximately 1.9 million Dollars.
