CDL Drivers Training Program

The Commercial Driver’s Training Program continues to deliver a convenient and quality driver training program to employees of Frederick County Government and DFRS volunteers. In 2023, the CDL Drivers Training Program successfully assisted 126 county employees with obtaining their commercial driver’s license. Of those 126 employees, 83 were DFRS employees or volunteers, with 43 obtaining a Class A CDL license and 35 obtaining a Class B CDL license. Currently, the program is in the process of obtaining a dedicated class A vehicle for the program, this will alleviate the need to barrow a vehicle and will ensure we are able to meet the needs of the programs robust training schedule.
