VOLUNTEER FIRE & RESCUE SERVICES

• Provided financial assistance to volunteer companies and established a budget of $50,000 in the FY25 budget, to provide volunteer fire/rescue companies financial assistance towards deductibles for vehicle repairs/accidents.

• Processed 78 new volunteers into membership.

• Conducted 6 new member “GEAR UP “orientation classes in 2024.

• Worked in collaboration with Frederick County Public Schools for high school students to participate in our Work – Based Learning Fire/Rescue Internship Program. • Placed in service 2019 Dodge Durango and wrapped with GEAR UP logo to serve as roving billboard for recruitment. Also, installed a tow package to tow life safety trailer.

• Placed in service 2024 Chevy Tahoe with command package assigned to Director/Deputy Chief.

• Participated in the development of the Chain of Command policy.

• Assisted in the development of the Command Officer Annual Training and Certification policy and participated in the 2024 Annual Command Competency Evaluations of Volunteer Rostered Chief Officers.
