Special Operations (continued)

The Dive Team, housed at the New Market District Volunteer Fire Company, continues to provide service not only to Frederick County but surrounding jurisdictions as well. Due to the training and certification the members have obtained, they have developed and fostered relationships with Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, Maryla nd State Police, Maryland Department of Natural Resources and the Maryland States Attorney’s Office .

Frederick County’s Wildland Team, housed at the Middletown Volunteer Fire Company, is equipped to respond and assist at large scale brush and wildland fires. The Wildland Team provides additional operational support for these large-scale incidents. The team responded to several in-county wildland fires along with several responses outside of Frederick County and Maryland.

The Tactical EMS (TEMS) group provides Emergency Medical Services care in support of the Frederick Police Department. TEMS members supported 37 high threat law enforcement operations including high risk warrant service, criminal barricades and protection details for high consequence public events.
