Safety Office (continued)
Several new initiatives undertaken this year included; publishing a monthly publication “The Safety Zone”, delivering safety related information to our personnel that is focused on past incidents, emerging trends and best practices; conducting a comprehensive noise assessment audit of apparatus to ensure compliance with NFPA 1901 and OSHA regulations; annual physicals for volunteers transitioned to a uniform annual system that aligns with NFPA 1582 standards; replacement of Safety 901 truck with a new 2022 Ford F250, replacing the 2016 Ford F250. Continuing our commitment to professional development, Safety Office personnel attended key conferences and symposiums, including the annual Fire Department Safety Officer’s Association Conference, FIERO PPE Symposium, and a Lithium-Ion Firefighter Safety Symposium.
