Special Operations (continued)
The Dive Team continues to provide service not only to Frederick County but surrounding jurisdictions as well. Members have obtained training and certification to assist with law enforcement operations upon request.
Frederick County’s Wildland Team is equipped to respond and assist at large scale brush and wildland fires. The Wildland Team provides additional operational support for these large-scale incidents. The team responded to several in-county wildland fires, in addition to providing mutual aid assistance to five different counties on six different incidents, to include a response to Jefferson County, West Virginia. Team members also strengthened their knowledge and incident capabilities by attending formal wildland training courses provided by Maryland DNR Forestry.
The Tactical EMS group provides Emergency Medical Services care in support of the Frederick Police Department. TEMS members supported 25 high threat law enforcement operations within the city of Frederick and one mutual aid deployment to another county supporting Maryland State Police.
