Safety Office (continued)

• Functioning as the Divisions infection control officer. This includes monitoring operations to ensure safe work practices and investigating incidents involving known and possible exposure to infectious agents in compliance with Federal and State laws. Performing follow-up recommendations to eliminate potential hazards through changes in workplace practices and engineering safeguards. In 2022, this continued to be a large task due to COVID. The Safety Office tracked and monitored 199 COVID positive employees that also resulted in 177 contacts being traced to ensure all SOPs were followed and determine if additional exposures existed. • In 2022, the Safety Office administered more than 416 Rapid COVID tests of employees with COVID symptoms or exposures. The ability to perform these tests rapidly helped identify many of the nearly 200 career and volunteer personnel who tested positive in 2022. This was key to preventing the spread of infection to other employees and the public.
