Command Competency Program

In FY23, DFRS received approval to hire a full-time Command Competency Instructor to develop command related training programs to enhance and ensure our command level officers (career and volunteer) manage emergency incidents effectively and efficiently. This position was hired in November of 2022 and has assisted with the delivery of training related to our revised Safe Structural Firefighting, Incident Command, and Accountability policies set to go in effect on February 1, 2023. We expect the new command competency program to be piloted in the first half of 2023.
