Frederick County Fire and Rescue Community Outreach (Public Education)

Frederick County Fire and Rescue spends a tremendous amount of time educating and interacting with our communities regarding fire safety to help make Frederick County safer. We are excited for any opportunity to do this which frequently includes making visits to schools, daycares, churches, and various other community events. In 2022, DFRS worked to establish blood pressure screening checks along with lunch and learning opportunities at several Senior Center locations throughout the County. Those locations included Brunswick, Emmitsburg, Frederick, Thurmont, and Urbana. We also continue to work on the expansion of our online fire safety material to enhance the delivery of messages to our ever-growing community. Please follow us on our various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) to view these videos. We would be happy to assist anyone interested in our community safety messages or training. To request our attendance at an event or for specific questions regarding the Community Outreach Program contact Battalion Chief Charles Scott via email at CScott@FrederickCountyMD.gov.

DFRS p artnered with the Maryland Department of Health to provide several Car Safety Seat Installation checkpoints at our new Northgate Fire Station. These checkpoints were held on January 26 th , March 3 rd , May 25 th , and November 30 th .

Continue to follow us and keep an eye on our social media platforms and website as we will announce when in- person seat installations are occurring in 2023.
